Coming Soon: Connect Your Etsy Shop for Automatic Listing Sync
Every time you want to scan a listing with Listing Compliance Shield, you have to copy and paste your title, description, and tags. It works, but it's tedious - especially if you have dozens or hundreds of listings to check.
We've heard this feedback from sellers since day one. And we've been working on something better.
Connect Your Shop, Scan in One Click
Soon you'll be able to connect your Etsy shop directly to Listing Compliance Shield. Once connected, we'll automatically sync your listings - titles, descriptions, tags, images, everything we need to run compliance scans.
No more copying and pasting. Just click "Scan" next to any listing and get your results.
Here's what the new experience will look like:
Connect once, sync anytime. Click a button, authorize with Etsy, and your shop is connected. We'll pull in your active listings automatically. When you add new listings or update existing ones, just hit "Sync" to refresh.
See all your listings in one dashboard. You'll get a clean overview of every listing in your shop. Filter by "Not Scanned" to find listings that haven't been checked yet, or "Has Issues" to jump straight to the ones that need attention.
Track compliance across your whole shop. Each listing shows its last scan score and risk level. At a glance, you can see which listings are in good shape and which ones might get you in trouble.
Scan with one click. No more copying listing content. Just click "Scan" and we'll use the synced data to run a full compliance check. The results link back to the listing, so you can easily go fix any issues.
How It Works
When you connect your shop, we use Etsy's official OAuth system - the same secure process you use when connecting any third-party app to your Etsy account. You'll be redirected to Etsy to authorize the connection, and then sent back to your dashboard.
We only request permission to read your listings. We can't modify your shop, publish listings, or access your financial information. We just need to see your listing content so we can scan it.
Your connection is encrypted and stored securely. You can disconnect at any time, and we'll stop syncing immediately. Your scan history stays with you either way.
What We're Syncing
For each listing, we pull:
- Title - The main thing buyers (and Etsy's systems) see first
- Description - Where most policy issues hide
- Tags - Often overlooked, but a common source of trademark problems
- Images - So you can identify listings at a glance
- Status - Active, draft, expired, sold out
We refresh this data whenever you click "Sync Listings." If you update a listing on Etsy and want to rescan it, just sync first to make sure we have the latest version.
Why We Built This
The sellers who get the most value from compliance scanning are the ones who scan regularly - ideally before every listing goes live, and periodically for existing listings as policies change.
But if scanning takes effort, it's easy to skip. You tell yourself you'll do it later, and later never comes. Then one day you get that email from Etsy.
By removing the friction of copying and pasting, we're hoping more sellers will build scanning into their regular workflow. Connect your shop once, and checking compliance becomes something you can do in a few seconds instead of a few minutes.
When Is It Coming?
We've built the feature and it's ready to go. Right now, we're waiting for Etsy to approve our app for their API program.
Etsy reviews all third-party apps to make sure they meet their security and privacy standards. This is actually a good thing - it means the apps you connect to your shop have been vetted. But it does mean we have to wait for their review process.
We don't have an exact date yet, but we're expecting approval within the next few weeks. As soon as we get the green light, we'll flip the switch and send out an announcement.
What About My Scan Limits?
Your subscription plan determines how many scans you can run per month. That doesn't change with the new feature - syncing listings is free, but each scan still counts against your monthly limit.
The good news is that syncing makes it easier to be strategic. You can see at a glance which listings have been scanned recently and which ones haven't. Instead of scanning everything every month, you can focus on new listings and ones you've recently updated.
If you're on the Free plan and want to scan your whole shop, this might be a good time to consider upgrading. Pro gives you 150 scans per month, and Business gives you 500.
Stay Tuned
We'll announce the launch here on the blog, by email, and on your dashboard. If you have an account, you'll know the moment it's available.
If you don't have an account yet, now's a great time to sign up. When the Etsy integration goes live, you'll be able to connect your shop immediately and start scanning your listings with one click.
We're excited to get this into your hands. Manual copy-paste scanning has always felt like a temporary solution, and soon it won't be the only option anymore.
